The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy hostedthe second batch of 02-Day Training on Gender-Based Violence for Court Staff in collaboration with UNDP. Twenty-five court staff members from District Swat and Kohat participated in the training.
Ms. Farah Jamshed, Director General KPJA welcomed the participants during the inaugural session and emphasized the importance of creating a welcoming and supportive environment for victims and survivors of GBV. Ms. Caitlin Chittenden, Senior Rule of Law and Justice Reforms Specialist, United Nations Development Programme graced the session on behalf of UNDP.
The training aimed to create awareness and understanding amongst the court staff about GBV, challenges faced by GBV victims/survivors in access to justice, especially components of Women’s Access to Justice and to provide skills and tools to better support GBV victims/survivors,

The training concluded on March 8, 2024. Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Dean Faculty, presided over the concluding ceremony. The class representative appreciated the efforts of academy in broadening the horizons of the participants regarding GBV cases. In his closing remarks, Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Dean Faculty KPJA stressed the paramount importance of court staff fulfilling their responsibilities, particularly when dealing with sensitive GBV cases.
Certificates were presented to the participants at the end of concluding ceremony.
