The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Alternate Dispute Resolution Act, 2020 and Rules, 2021, have been given effect throughout the Province in the year, 2022. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy is conducting a series of online Knowledge Sharing Sessions on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Alternative Dispute Resolution Legal Framework from 11th to 18th April, 2023.
Objectives of the sessions include orientation on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) legal framework and sharing of experiences and challenges for future in person training sessions. The District and Sessions Judges and Senior Civil Judges Newly Merged Districts, Malakand Division, Central Districts, Hazara Division and Southern Districts are participants.
First session of the series was held on 11th April, 2023 with judges of Newly Merged Districts. In her welcome note, Ms. Farah Jamshed, Director General of the Academy highlighted the background & objectives of the session and the future course of action with regard to rolling out of unified training programs on ADR. Syed Yasir Shabbir, Director Instructions KPJA, being a focal person of the “ADR Working Group” presented an introduction on ADR processes and law. Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Dean Faculty made a presentation on ADR Legal Framework. The orientation session was followed by discussion session conducted jointly by the Dean Faculty, Mr. Azhar Ali, Station Director and Ms. Farah Attaullah Khan, Senior Director Research & Publication. Second session was conducted with judges of Malakand Division on 12th March, 2023 while, third session was held on 15th April with judges of central Districts. The participants shared their views, challenges and experiences.
