The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, in collaboration with Asma Jehangir Legal Aid Cell (AGHS), organized a two days (02) specialized training on for the trial court judges on Anti-Rape Act,2021.
Twenty three (23) Additional District & Session judges from across the province attended the training.
Dean Faculty, Mr. Mohammad Shoaib welcomed the participants. In his keynote address, he hoped that there will be an interactive capacity building session for the trainees. Ms. Nida Aly, Executive Director, AGHS in opening note, gave introduction of training session and highlighted objectives of the training.
The focus of the activity included gender sensitization, sexual gender based violence cases and road blocks to justice, ingredients of rape, Anti- Rape (Investigation and Trial) Act 2021, evidentiary matters, KP Witness Protection Act, 2021, case and court room management and managing vicarious trauma exposure to judges dealing with sexual gender based violence cases.
The concluding ceremony was held on, 31st January, 2023. Syed Ali Raza, Additional District and Sessions Judge as Class Representative, lauded the activity as highly beneficial and requested for arranging trainings on coping skills to deal with vicarious trauma exposure at workplace, sessions on mental wellbeing and stress management for judges.
Director General of the Academy appreciated participation of the trainees and entire team of AGHS in making the training a success. Concluding session was followed by distribution of certificates among the participants.
