The third and final batch of the specialized training workshop on Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and Smuggling of Migrants (SOM) commenced today, May 2, 2025, at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA), in collaboration with UNODC Pakistan. This capacity-building initiative is part of a three-part series designed to enhance the ability of judicial officers to effectively adjudicate TIP and SOM cases, grounded in both national and international legal frameworks.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Ms. Hina Khan, Director Instruction, who welcomed the participants and reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to promoting fair, informed, and rights-based judicial practices. A total of 23 judges from various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in this final batch.
The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony led by Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General KPJA, who commended the participants for their active involvement and dedication to advancing justice in complex trafficking and smuggling cases.
