The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy conducteda two-week Leadership & Management Training program for District & Sessions Judges/Zila QazisfromFebruary 19to March 2, 2024.
The inaugural session was presided over by Mr. Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, the Hon'ble Puisne Judge Peshawar High Court, Peshawar. Ms. Farah Jamshed, Director General,KPJA, welcomed the participants and underscored the training's importance in refining their leadership abilities and professional demeanor. The Chief Guest emphasized the paramount role of judges in ensuring fair and impartial justice, urging them to uphold these principles with integrity.
The training comprehensively covered the important areas through discussions, discourses and workshops on “maintaining health and physical well-being, highlighting its significance for effective leadership”, "Professional Grooming",“Leadership at Pinnacle Level”, “Extra-legal factors influencing judicial decision making”, “Managing stress at workplace”, “Human Resource Management”, “Performance Appraisal”, "Appointments”, "Strategic Planning & Quality Management: Developing Judicial Infrastructure.""Climate Change & Resilience", “Professional Grooming: Cultivating Courtesy”, "Public Finance Management including Budget & Audit","Procurement Management Processes"and "Emotional Intelligence and Justice."
To inculcate longing for literature among participants, the training program also included a special “literary night”.The evening unfolded with lively discussions about literature, where both the chief guest and participants enthusiastically shared their favorite reads. Similarly, recognizing the importance of a healthy mind and body, participants engaged in various sports activities, including badminton and table tennis.
As part of the Judicial Exchange Program, the participants visited the Lahore High Court, Fountain House, Lahore andPunjab Judicial Academy for a briefing on its operations. Besides visits, the participants were engaged in discourses on "Critical Thinking", “Climate Change”and “Leadership”.
The concluding ceremony of the training was held in PunjabJudicial Academy (PJA) on March 2,2024. The Dean Faculty and the Directors of KPJA attended the ceremony along with participants. Mr. Ashtar Abbas (Acting) Director General Punjab Judicial Academy appreciated the Judicial Exchange Program for its significance and bringing inter-provincial cooperation and knowledge sharing among the judges in his closing remarks.Mr. Shakir Ullah Khan, Class Representative, in his remarks regarded the training as practical and relevant and expressed gratitude to both the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Judicial Academies, for arranging the same.Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Dean FacultyKPJA appreciated the support of the Director General(Acting)Punjab Judicial Academy for arranging the Professional Exchange Program. Class Representative and both the Director Generals exchanged souvenirs.
