Dr. Mehnaz Begum
Dr. Mehnaz Begum, a distinguished legal scholar and academician, currently serving as Lecturer in Law at Islamia College, University of Peshawar.
Dr. Begum holds a PhD in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Peshawar, where her research explored the impact of ADR on the rule of law through a comparative analysis of Pakistan and Kazakhstan. She brings extensive teaching experience from leading institutions, including the International Islamic University, Islamabad, and Government Girls Degree College Zaida, Swabi.
In addition to her academic career, Dr. Begum has worked with prestigious international organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and the Center of Excellence for Rural Development (CERD)—contributing to governance policy, risk assessment, and negotiation frameworks.
Her research and publications span a wide range of topics, including comparative law, digital copyright, climate refugee frameworks, international humanitarian law, and colonial legal legacies. Many of her works have appeared in reputed national and international journals, including the International Review of Social Sciences, Global Legal Studies Review, and the Russian Law Journal.
