Professor Dr Awais Adnan 

Our resource person today is Professor Awais Adnan, a distinguished faculty member and researcher at the Institute of Management Sciences (IM|Sciences), Peshawar, with expertise in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Multimedia Systems, particularly in intelligent and content-aware multimedia. He has supervised multiple Ph.D. and over 120 MS-level research projects, and has published more than 70 papers in national and international journals.

Professor Adnan has extensive experience in digital learning initiatives, research commercialization, and ICT implementation, having served as the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) and as the focal person for Higher Education Commission online education programs. He has also trained professionals in AI, data analytics, project management, web technologies, and digital literacy across academic, government, and private sectors.

His research includes pioneering work on content-aware video presentation systems, automated violence and horror scene detection, data oversampling techniques, early detection of eye diseases, Arabic/Urdu OCR, and intelligent transport systems, reflecting his commitment to applying AI and machine learning to real-world challenges. Professor Adnan continues to advance innovation, teaching, and research in Pakistan and internationally.
