1-Day Training on Gender Sensitivity & Handling of litigants of Gender Based Courts (July 16, 2022)

Violence of any genre disrupts harmony and growth in a society. When violence permeates through unconscious assimilation; it gets internalized in a society resulting in insensitivity. In contemporary era, violence directed against an individual owing to their peculiar gender (Gender Based Violence) constitutes most glaring human rights violation resulting in gender equality. To instill Gender Perspective in litigant handling by Court Staff and Staff of Information Kiosks for protection against secondary victimization, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy and UNDP under Rule of Law programme, jointly organized one day training session on Gender Sensitivity and Handling of Litigants of Gender Based Courts. In first phase, concerned staff of District Peshawar, Bajaur, Kurram, Swat, Mardan, Khyber, and Kohat attended the training. Participants were given orientation on Human Rights Approach VS System Centered Approach, Effective and Forensic Communication and Legal Aid Mechanisms.
