Judges First course on Substantive and Procedural Laws concluded

 The fist five-day course on procedural and substantive laws was concluded today. As many as 25 Judicial Officer from across the province participated in the course. Among them, 11 were Additional District & Sessions Judges.  The course being an activity under the UNDP’s Strengthening the Rule of Law in Malakand project, due representation was given to Malakand division. The course content was drawn fom a Manual on Procedural and Substantive Law, which the Academy has designed. The methodology was mainly practical and learning by doing. Several Resource Persons were drawn from serving senior Judicial Officers (District & Sessions Judges). Those Resource Persons were trained as trainer by the Academy.  In the conclusion ceremony, the participants shared their feedback with the Academy through their representatives. The participants also expressed their thanks for their nomination. An expert/extension lecture was also arranged for the participants on Friday in which probationer prosecutors also participated. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Abdullah, a former civil servant. Mr. Abdullah is a reputed scholar, having expertise in the area of management and training. The topic of the lecture was: Emotional Intelligence, Behavioral Modification and Organizational Efficiency. Another significant development was that Dr Khurshid Iqbal, Dean of Faculty formed a small research group from amongst the participants. The topic of the research is: Theory and Practice of Framing of Charge in Criminal Cases: focus on common mistakes. The group will be led by Mr. Muhammad Zeb Khan, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Kohat. Mr. Khan will write a working paper, which the Academy will assess for publication. 

 

Justice Dost Muhammad Khan, Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court / Chairman KP Judicial Academy was the chief guest. His lordship distributed certificates among the participants and addressed the gathering. Judicial Officers presented a souvenir to hon’ble the Chief Justice. Qazi Attaullah, Director Instructions presented to hon’ble the Chief Justice a consolidated report of three training courses for prosecutors.  Mr. Hayat Ali Shah, Director General of the Academy also spoke on the occasion.
