A golden feather in the Academy’s cap!
Readers have to believe that the KP Judicial Academy is the first in Asia and only fourth in the whole world, having a degree award status in judicial studies and research. In a very memorable ceremony on Sep 6, 2014, Honourable the Chief Justice Peshawar High Court, Mr. Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, raised curtains from the inauguration plaque of the KP Postgraduate Institute of Judicial Studies & Research. The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from various walks of life.
Prominent among them were Honourable justices of the PHC, senior lawyers, academician, Mr. Imtiaz Hussain Gillani, Vice Chancellor UET, Dr. Mansoor Akbar Kundi from HEC, Mr. Shaiber Khan, District & Sessions Judge Peshawar and Mr. Abdul Matin Khan, Commissioner Information Department, Government of KP.
The ceremony was also attended by the trainees judicial officers of the course on Court & Case Management. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Hayat Ali Shah, Director General of the Academy, expressed his gratitude to his lordship Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, for taking keen interest in the Academy’s educational agenda. The Dean Faculty, Dr. Khurshid Iqbal, apprised the audience about the Institute’s significance, distinction, academic themes and the fruits itis highly expected to yield.
The Chief Guest, Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, appreciated the Academy’s efforts of initiating different activities for the capacity building of justice sector personnel. His lordship called it a historic moment that the Academy has won a degree award status despite its being the youngest in its family. He hoped that the newly established Institute would also mark its distinction in a short span of time.
