One-Day Workshop on Human Rights and Refugees’ Status in Pakistan (23rd November, 2023)

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) organized one-day workshop in collaboration with its partner Society for the Human Rights and Prisoner's Aid (SHARP) on “Human Rights and Refugees’ Status in Pakistan”. The workshop was attended by twenty-one (21) Judicial Officers posted at district Charsadda, Kohat, Haripur, Mansehra, Dir, Nowshera and Peshawar.

Ms. Farah Jamshed, Director General, KPJA extended a warm welcome to participants and highlighted objectives of the workshop. She expressed hope that the activity would help them in delivery of services in a befitting manner.  The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the representatives of SHARP and Directors of the Academy.

The day-long event focused deliberations on thematic areas of workshop including “International legal framework for refugees”, “Status of Aghan Refugees in Pakistan”, “Trafficking in person and Modern slavery”, and “Migrants smuggling and exploitation”.

DG KPJA presided over the concluding ceremony, while Mr. Kofi Ohenenana Dwomo Head of UNHCR (Sub-Office Peshawar) was guest of honor. In his concluding remarks, he regarded the workshop a timely imitative for capacity uplift of judicial officers. Certificates were distributed among the participants, recognizing their valuable contribution and commitment to the session’s objective. Academy and the chief guest also exchange souvenirs.
