One-Week Post-Promotion Statutory training for the Additional District & Sessions Judges (AD&SJs) concluded at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Academy. Twenty (20) AD&SJs across the Province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the training.
The course modules for this training are designed according to the job description and responsibilities of AD&SJ. The key topics include Judicial ethics, Civil and Criminal appeal and revision, management of sessions, sentencing guidelines, Appreciation of Evidence, Audio-Video Recording of Evidence and Maintenance of its records, Trials under special laws (theory and practice), Bail (Concept, Logic & Procedure), Justice of Peace (Section 25 CrPC), Qisas, Diyat & Tazir, and Judgment writing. All the sessions are designed to be interactive and participatory.
The Director General apprised the participants that Judiciary is one of the most important organs of the state; therefore, it is undeniable that the Judicial Officers must remain up-to-date with regard to changes about new and revised methods in resolving disputes in the society. Moreover, Training (both pre-service and in-service) assists judicial officials in preparing for their current and future assignments. He further explained that the objective behind judicial trainings are to enrich knowledge, sharpen the skills, develop work culture and attitude in judicial officers with a view to improving the quality and quantity of their output in the field so that the litigant public get an expeditious justice. He emphasized that a judge should be a role model for society and his character and judgment should speak louder than him.
