TWO-WEEK TRAINING COURSE FOR LAWYERS OF NEWLY MERGED DISTRICTS OF KP PROVINCE (15-26 JULY, 2019) AT KPJA

            Two-week training course for lawyers of newly merged districts of KP Province conducted successfully at KP Judicial Academy. As many as thirty two young lawyers from newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa( Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, North Waziristan and South Waziristan) participated in the training.

                        The course was tailored to the needs of young lawyers to perform efficiently. The focus of the contents was on areas of Professional Ethics,  Rewaj, Raising Infrastructure in NMDs, Role of lawyers in Alternate Dispute Resolution, Mediation Skills, Forensics, Civil Case Management, Human Rights laws, Refugee Laws, Anti-terrorism Law, Skills for Examination of Witnesses, Customary Practices,  Role of lawyers in Legal Aid & Legal Empowerment Committees, Application of IT in Courts, Pleadings, Cyber Crimes, Digital Forensics, Judicial Proceedings, Role of lawyers in NMD, Regulatory Regime for Industry, Commerce and Trade in NMD, 25th Constitutional Amendment and Implications of Judgments of Supreme Court in NMD, Probation of offenders, Interpretation of Statues, Law on Qisas and Diyat and Modes of proof in Islamic Jurisprudence.

            A simple but venerable concluding ceremony was conducted on the last day of the training. Director General of the Academy, Mr. Muhammad Bashir, Dean Faculty, Dr. Shakeel Azam Awan, Senior Director Administrator Academy, Mr. Ashfaque Taj, Senior Director Research & Publication Academy, Mr. Amjad Zia Siddiqee, and Director Instruction Mr. Ahmad Iftikhar participated in the concluding ceremony.The class representative expressed his satisfaction regarding the effectiveness and usefulness of the training.The participants extended their profound gratitude to the Peshawar High Court and the Academy for arranging the activity.

            In his concluding remarks Director General Academy, Mr. Muhammad Bashir, highlighted the importance of training for all stakeholders of Judicial System.He said that the training course was designed to cater the needs of young lawyers of NMDs to perform efficiently. He said that in the future, the Academy will conduct more trainings of similar nature in which young lawyers from newly merged districts of the Province will participate. At the end the Director General, Academy distributed certificates amongst the trainees.
