Webinars on Torture and Custodial Death (Prevention and Punishment) Act, 2022 (25th – 29th March, 2024)

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) conducted a series of 1-day webinars on the "Torture and Custodial Death (Prevention and Punishment) Act, 2022." These webinars aim to abreast stakeholders within the justice system regarding the menace of prevalence of torture and custodial death.
The participants include, District & Sessions Judges, Senior Civil Judges, Judicial Magistrates, District Police Officers/SSP Investigations, District Public Prosecutors, District Probation Officers, Presidents District Bar Associations and Jail Superintendents.
Ms. Farah Jamshed, Director General KPJA, welcomed participants and emphasized the gravity of custodial death and torture. She highlighted the need to promote a culture of respect for human rights and dignity as guaranteed by the Constitution of Pakistan.
Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Dean Faculty, led participants through a detailed explanation of the Act. The subsequent interactive session encouraged discussions, allowing faculty of KP Judicial Academy and participants to share their experiences.
The webinar series continue for five days from 25th to 29th March, 2024, engaging participants from different zones of KP.
