The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 23rd December 2021 for mutual collaboration in training and capacity building of judges of the District Judiciary in the territorial jurisdiction of KP province in the areas of banking and finance. The MoU is focused inter alia on the fields of anti-money laundering,combating terrorism financing, cyber crimes, banking laws, and foreign exchange operations/hawala/ hundi.
As per the agreement, the SBP would provide logistic support including the arrangement of trainers. The implementation mechanism of these activities would be devised mutually and would be subject to additional protocols. The Director-General KPJA, Mr. Zia-ud-Din Khattak and Director Legal Services Department (SBP) Mr. Raza Mohsin Qizilbash signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organization. Mr. Justice® Sarmad Jalal Osmany being, Chief Legal Advisor of Legal Services Department also attended the occasion with his other team members.
